What can you expect?
We have three generous sized rooms available, all with en-suite baths or showers, all individual in design and all devised with comfort in mind.
Room One is at the rear of the house, with windows that flood the space with calming light from the north west. An antique brass bed, fitted with a pocket sprung mattress and memory foam topper is a feature. All the soft furnishings are hand or home-made giving this room a relaxed and comfortable, homely feel. Items crafted by locals provide decorative touches and there are lots of quirky details that make this room unique and special.
When you’re not out and about exploring all Falmouth and Cornwall have to offer, a bookshelf with a selection of fiction and non-fiction titles will give you something to browse through. You can tune into your favourite station and listen to the sonorous sounds on the Roberts radio. Failing that, you can always turn on the TV and brew yourself a cup of something tasty from our tray of goodies. There may even be a slice or two of home-baked cake to enjoy with that – Chocolate? Lemon drizzle? Orange? Banana? Millionaires Shortbread? What’s your favourite?
As with all our rooms, breakfast can be served to your room if you’d like to make the most of your privacy (or enjoy a cheeky holiday lie-in)
The original Edwardian bath in the bright and cheerful en-suite bathroom means you can fill up the tub and enjoy a relaxing soak, although, don’t worry, there’s also a shower if you’d prefer.
Room Three and Room Six are at the South facing front of the house.
Room Three comes with a warning – You may not want to leave this room: it’s been creatively designed to maximise your comfort and interest.
Another generous proportioned, room, this room (Three) is on the first floor, with two large windows that make the most of the wonderful light. There is a nod to the sea in the design of this room and you will notice small details linking The Lyonesse to the coast that provides the town with its richness. This room is ideal for couples looking for the ultimate chill out, but equally, a family of up to four can be accommodated (yes, it’s that big!)
The super-king size bed provides supreme comfort for couples who wish to stay, although there is also flexibility as the bed can be converted into a twin (no, you don’t fall through the gap when the beds are together! It’s a fabulous design called a ‘zip and link’ meaning your comfort is not, in any way, compromised!).
A cleverly designed, discrete built in loft bed provides further space for an adult or adventurous youngster and this frees up a perfect space for peace and relaxation beneath – sit down, put your feet up and take it easy in the armchair provided. There are lots of hand-made and locally crafted decorative features that give this wonderful room its individuality.
The room benefits from a compact, modern en-suite with a double sized shower.
Room Six we like to call the attic room, although ignore the connotations of small and pokey because this is far from the case. We call it the attic room because it is at right at the top of the house and has a very private feel to it, a haven, a perfect space to escape from it all. The views are wonderful from this second floor room: far reaching and panoramic views of Falmouth towards Swanpool and Maenporth with the sea to the left can be enjoyed. The room features a lovely comfortable king size double ‘zip & link’ bed, which also can be separated to provide two small twin beds. There is ample space to sit relaxing and enjoying the views by the window.
An en-suite shower is also available.
