100 Reasons to Visit Cornwall #7: Parklive, Gardens Fun and Holiday Shinnanegins.
Live music in Kimberley Park for this Sunday’s Parklive event
Park live was great this weekend. The venue for this monthly event is the fantastic Kimberley Park here in Falmouth. It’s held on the last Sunday in every month during the spring and summer until the end of October.http://www.falmusic.co.uk/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=780&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0 There’s live music on a huge stage, a storytelling tent and food stalls. There’s also a really cool children’s play park, but that’s there even when Parklive isn’t on. It just means that if you take your children and they get bored before you do watching and listening to the great music, (which they’re bound to…) they can go off and enjoy themselves while you are! It’s such a good atmosphere at these events and a lovely relaxed way to while away a Sunday afternoon.

The grounds at Trelissick- plenty of room for the children to enjoy a run around
We headed to Trelissick Gardens and House http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/trelissick/http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/trelissick/ last week with the intention of having a go at some circus skills run by Swamp Circus in conjunction with Fal River Week, but we were so enjoying the garden, the house and the wonderful art work by students from the university, that we didn’t really get the time! The gardens are impressive, with lots of winding pathways and fabulous planting; the grounds are substantial and there are plenty of woodland and river side walks to enjoy; the house, only recently opened to the public, is imposing and whilst there are few pieces of furniture, the art work that was showcased in celebration of Fal River week, provided plenty to look at and appreciate. The views from the terrace at the front of the house are spectacular: it must have been a fantastic place to live back in the day.

The weather was fabulous this week. Perfect for some half term holiday fun! We were full with guests who we were making the most of Cornwall’s bounty, but we also had family staying and our three small nephews had a fantastic time.
